The Australian Reconciliation Company (
ARC dreaming) is a Company working to built bridges between Indigenous and Non Indigenous people.
ARC dreaming was conceived because of the need to address the issue of reconciliation through the expression of music and dance.
Due to the racial and political environment within Australia, at that time, it seemed an impossible task, many hurdles and obstacles had to be overcome, the Company exists only through the sheer desire to succeed and voluntary work.
Nunukul Yuggera, the indigenous component of the ARC dreaming cast, commenced operation in 1995 as a youth program focussing on teaching young Indigenous people, performance skills, involving traditional song and dance, didgeridoo playing as well as traditional methods of fire making taught to them by their elders. The group has been a tremendous help in helping youth at risk on their way to becoming professional performers and role models for their less fortunate peers.
